BLUEPRINT COMPETITION
'FANTASIA ESATTA' is our proposal for the International Competition ‘Blueprint Competition: un disegno per Genova’, based on the Blueprint of Renzo Piano and organised by Comune di Genova in collaboration with SPIM.
“Fantasia esatta” is a hybrid, multiform but strongly unitarian project for Genova (IT).

The typology chosen for the RESIDENTIAL buildings is the one of the Palazzo, with a inner court and a main representative facade. The buildings enclose the channel as a new backdrop and generate a space where the navigation is linked with the urban life. The urban density of these area continues the one of the neighbour area above the walls as a descending strategy of the urban texture to the sea.
The HOTEL is a tower, very thin and tall. It doesn’t interrupt the view from the city to the sea and its compactness save a big amount of space that is then occupied by a square.
This mineral SQUARE is as a terrace in front of the sea and can have infinite uses (concerts, playground…). Together with others public space, identified in a green park that mediates the traffic of the street with the tranquillity of the residential area and a system of small streets in between the buildings, it creates a net of pedestrian flows.

The WORKING SPACES are divided in openspace offices and start-up garage, where different activities can take place.
.
The PARKING is the car access for the area and it’s the last point reachable by car. It’s totally managed by an automatic system, much more safe, fast and compact than a classic parking.
Great attention was also put in the sustainability of the project. The energy demand of the complex (1,8GWh/year) is fulfilled by a combined system that produce energy from the sun, from the wind and from the waves and tides of the sea. Below the ground the void of the platform of the island is occupied by machines that depurates in a passive way all the meteoric water and the wastewater.
