SENATORSKA
Grunwald- district in Poznań, created in the 30’s of the last century. Architecture based mostly on single-family villas. Today it is one of the most desirable locations in the city.
The existing house was in a deplorable state, divided into two separate apartments, each on a different floor, with shared basement. Garden in the same terrible condition desperately needed a new life.
For the new owners the most important was to overcome the limits of the existing building. It was necessary to find a place for a comfortable entrance hall, larger living room and a space for cars.
Originally on the plot there was no garage.
The idea was born that the missing spaces will be put in one-story pavilion, "including" the existing house. Brick strip contains the necessary functions complemented by a covered terrace.
Brick used in Grunwald as decoration has become the dominant material in the new part, this durable material was used also to restore the cornices, plinth and details of the corner windows.
Interior by Volta Design District keep the spirit of the district alive- terrazzo, oak parquet floors, bright interiors complemented by individually designed furniture complete home atmosphere. Aura of the urban villa, with a feature of modernity create a serene and elegant entity.
Ground floor, floor with rooms for children and basement give together 500m2 surface and perfectly meet the needs of new residents.
At the end terrazzo slabs were thrown around the house what gave the garden a new life. We managed to recover a piece of beautiful Grunwald.
