One-Space House
The entire site is surrounded with a wall to define a secluded interior space within a densely populated neighborhood. It is a parallel world, an oasis. Inside, we experience one continuous space: both garden and interior spaces are woven together in one endless continuum. The house is an enclosed paradise, a world of gardens. The terrain slopes up and down as the garden and house wrap over, under, and around each other, inseparably intertwined. The two intertwined elements create one infinite space with no end. As we pass from room to room, we experience a new relationship to the ever-changing garden. Inside, we circulate between walls as if in a labyrinth. It is not clear what new condition lies around the corner. We continuously enter new “landscapes” within this singular garden through the thin pathways between the walls.
