Wordless Form
PLADUR launched its annual student competition which program should be this year a modular pavilion with the objective of exposing the past PLADUR student works, in a building without any urban context.
In history we were able to see some examples of architectonic forms which are exceptional in its context, like cylinders.
The cylinder comes up with the possibility of being placed anywhere, obeying a strict modulation, starting in its structure and ending in its outer layers.
Referring to the street level, there is a reception, an auditorium and waiting areas to free the upper level with only the exposition room, presenting a mausoleum aspect.
In the upper level, to compose a filtered relation with the surroundings a perimeter gallery is created, with mismatched openings, and height alternations to autonomize the central and most important space within this project, the exposition area, and its innovative PLADUR dome.
The challenge was to develop a new way to ensemble the strict PLADUR systems. We propose a self-supporting structure, using the same installers in a different manner, a curved design, to allow a new roof solution which discards an additional structural system, in this case a dome.
The idea should be a metallic cage, utilizing the same systems, applied in a different form, disposed circularly, enhancing its structural values, with an innovative approach to the PLADUR systems
