Walk in Cinema
“Walk In Cinema” is a series of pieces created for the Italian short film festival Concorto at Raggio Park in Italy.
Inspired by the old movie theatres and drive in’s typography, Mezzo Atelier in collaboration with Filippo Losi Lab, have created a narrative of scenographic furniture from the park’s entrance until the open air cinema, addressing the public into the various programs offered by Concorto organisation.
The objects construction brought together manual and digital fabrication: while letters where digitally cut in plywood with a cnc machine, new metal joints where hand made, and at the end all the components where easily assembled connecting the wooden beams and transforming the materials into tables, benches, a directional totem or an armchair.
The temporary installations, surrounded by green, added a lively and vibrant contrast to the park for one week. At the evenings, when the dark and the main public arrived, the pieces would gently start to glow creating another atmosphere and lightning up messages for the festival’s public.
