Anapra
A commercial structure that stems from the relationship of its inhabitants and their local surroundings; a raw texture that becomes the building's skin.
The Anapra neighborhood in the city of Juarez Mexico, is a place with richness of textures and exposed materials. A place where the built environment can be seen as a reflection of its people's creativity portrayed in their unique housing and construction systems.
In this project, the wish of the client was for a low cost, simple commercial structure that could be open for redistribution internally as he pleased.
Given the brief we opted for an exposed material that would resemble with the site. We chose a tilt-up cast in-site concrete panels with a continuous recessed pattern that stems from the relationship among settlers and their local surroundings; a raw texture that becomes the building's skin.
