Archtypes in Steel Structure
Outside this 50m2 former bookshop in Vilamoura, one finds white buildings of archetipal shapes, paths of terracota tiles, a church with a tall tower bell. All seem to pleasantly coexist in great contrast: white walls with red floor and roofs, traditional and modern architectures, large scale public buildings emerging from the small houses.
Inside, we've reinterpreted this ambience and designed our office. The area is divided in two separated spaces: the store front office and an enclosed meeting room. Both spaces share the same materiality, comunicating (visually and physically) trough a circular window and a rectangular door. A white galvanized steel furniture piece is designed to occupy the center of the office. Its archetypal outline mimics the shapes we've found outside, arranging work stations with desks and shelves in different levels.
