FOUR HOUSES ON THE ROOF
AN EFFICIENT AND CLEAN RESIDENTIAL LAYOUT IN TWO FLOORS WITH A PRIVATE TERRACE.
This addition in Boulogne-Billancourt was a true challenge for Vincent Eschalier and his team. The architectural approach of this project is unique to the specific issues surrounding the site. The project consists of 4 houses, added to the top of an existing building. They find their success through rethinking the plan, section and circulation of a typical addition project.
Of primary importance for the project is the shared circulation on the rooftop, which allows the interior space to be maximized. The result is a well-integrated, spacious, luminous and generous architecture.
This project displays the ability to utilize a contemporary architectural approach in an extremely restrictive urban context, while always keeping in mind the functionality and quality of the spaces designed.
The volumes create a well-defined exterior and interior form, while extensive use of natural daylighting and meticulously detailed interiors create a unique atmosphere for the inhabitants.
