Apartment in Paris
L'Atelier Senzu is an Architecture Studio based in Paris. We operate in the fields of Architecture, Interior Design, Design and Urbanism.
Located on the 1st floor of a building in Boulogne –Billancourt, the apartment offers many views to the garden and on a little street. The renovation project consisted on optimizing the relationship between the space and the many windows. Each space has a strong link with one window in order to bring in maximum light and to open the view.
In addition, the general layout has been thought according to a young couple’s needs and the sun path. The Bedroom, kitchen and bathroom have been aligned, one next to the other, in order to generate the largest living room possible, a big living space.
The budget of the project being very low, the architects have developped a standardised architecture. The simplicity of the material : floor and lintel in full oak wood and kitchen and storage in stainless steel was a way to keep the budget as low as possible.
The aesthetic outcome is the result of the efficient use of these standard elements.
The use of two materials, stainless steel and wood allows to reach a simple design. The wood line on the upper part represents the difference between the standard elements and the ceiling height.
It is employed here to hide the structural existing network made of apparent wood beams.
The floors are covered with two materials, resin and parquet in order to enhance the difference between the line of rooms and the living room.
