The brief asked for a solution drawn in three fronts: the creation of a passageway over a highway, some suggested multipurpose spaces and "a true symbol for anyone entering Paris from the south." The intervention would take place on an decaying bridge-building and should aspire to become "an iconic lieu" as the "new Arc de triomphe for Paris"
A light frame set of spaces standing vertically on an entrance of the city should salute people while welcoming a wide range of activities.
