AMICI MIEI - DO' VIZI BISTROT
Do' Vizi bistrot tells the story of two guys, their dreams and speaks about a travel between traditional taverns, typical products and about several night at open sky.
The story starts with the discovery of a space digged in the rocks inside an historical building overlooking the ancient fisherman's road of Ancona.
Nowadays this street is the scenario of the daily pilgrimage of tourists, families, business men and "felons" , all of them with the aim to get to the Balcanic lands.
The chronicle is articulated by discoveries of objects that emerge since the first demolition: an ancient cavern, a cast iron pipe of an abandoned fishing vessel, steel and wood of all sorts. So the rigeneration of the discovered objects becomes an inevitable assignment. The design of furnitures is draft by the typical sign of the traditional inn, but is lighted by a line that belongs to the present. We projected any components as a plug between past and present and we gave them a new functions. In this way the pipes of a fishing vessel become a canal for lighting and for the distribution of energy , the rusted metal sheets switch into a super smooth black surfaces for the tables and for the entrance furnitures. At this point of the story, Do' Vizi's project takes its shape, but an annoying echo problems connected to the hight and depth of the spaces introduces a new thing to fix. Only after some ideas we found the solution through a digital simulation of the sound propagation and thanks to a combination of a false ceiling and a wall built with wood wool panels we fixed the problem without the use of any partitions system. Last but not least we faced the restoration of the ancient brick arches and we went through the rehabilitation of the brick tunnel that connect the bistrot to its kitchen spaces. Here we found other canals, others caves and “traditional treasures”.
At the end we completed the operations with the review of mechanical implants for ventilation and for thermic comfort.
Now all is ready and from the big glass wall, in the front side, you can see the sunset's colors and the spectacular departures of the ferry boats.
A new journey is on the air….
