House Renovation
This project concerns the renovation of a delapidated house, composed of a large living area, a kitchen and a music room on the ground floor and on the first floor, four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Our proposal can be compared to an archaeological dig, as a multitude of contextual interventions interacting with the existing elements.
In the past, this house was consecutively inhabited by two creative artists: a sculptor and a blacksmith. Though anonymous and with no pretensions, these predecessors left the house scattered with their presence and experimentations.
A workshop was attached to the house: “a terrible mess”, made up of cluttered layers of materials from different times. This workshop space is has been connected to the living area by removing the separation wall, soon to be turned into a large and appealing kitchen.
A large wooden piece of furniture warms up the atmosphere and represents the golden thread binding together the entrance, kitchen and living area.
