The new home benefits equally from the proximity of the woods, the surrounding sloping pastures and the view into the valley. The shape of the hipped roof was manipulated in order to prevent a static appearance yet maintaining a calm, grounded look. The building is traversed by an outdoor space that leads from the entrance on the ground level by way of a „summer stair“ to an inner courtyard. This courtyard is not a patio in the classic sense but rather a hybrid exterior space that energises the building from the inside and allows for multiple visual relationships.
