The high-rise bunker on Ungererstraße was built during the Second World War in the years 1942/43 as an air-raid shelter. Today it is a listed building. Its national socialist origins called for special sensitivity from all those involved. The windows cut into the two metre thick outside walls bear witness today to the successful conversion of the building. Thanks to its architectural transformation, the bunker has become a bridge between the past and the future.
