his project is located in a transition area; it lies between the district of “Cleunay” (composed of small city houses) and the district of “La Courrouze”(collective housings, up to 11 floors).
The building is characterized by its stairway design and mixes naturally two types of dwelling. It consist of 5 houses (duplex on ground floor) and 24 apartments.
The materials and colors are designed to show the structure of the building. The white painted concrete for the houses, and the black concrete for the apartments.
The houses are designed to make people forget as much as possible the idea of the collective housing: each one has its own entrance, and a semi-private garden that protects the terrace and the housing from the street.
In the most "collective and urban" part of the project, not a single housing is identical. The balconies are treated as sheltered loggias that can allow storage if needed.
To be more efficient with the thermal performances, but also for the visual comfort, all the roofs are planted.
