Marquis Los Cabos
After Hurricane Odile in 2014, the Hotel Marquis Los Cabos was affected dramatically in all its exterior and some interior areas. In order to revitalize the iconic lobby and outside areas we redesigned the hotel giving a new fresh character to give back to life this emblematic hotel on the Baja California peninsula.
The contemporary architecture uses large walls, gardens and internal corridors that blend into the desert surroundings where guests can relax and find spiritual calm.
The lobby has a reflecting pool that merges into the sea horizon, and its water overflows as a 20-meter-tall water curtain.
A series of wide vestibules and corridors lead down to the state-of-the-art business center; service is provided to all areas with the large kitchen and storerooms located on the same level. This area connects to the laundry, bathrooms, dressing rooms and staff canteen accessed through the covered parking lot.
At both ends of the hotel complex two large infinity swimming pools connect visually to the sea; between these two pools there are walkways and green areas that include seven villa modules on the lower and upper levels, with a total of 24 luxurious villas, each with a private pool and terrace. The outside areas at the beach level are linked to the nucleus with a semi-circular swimming pool. Beside a sunbathing deck and snack bar, a small reservoir is attached to the main pool in order to collect the curtain of water falling from the lobby level.
