SENS
Natural light was the top design priority for SENS: it defined the façade design, and the floor-to-ceiling glazing, and from halfway up light can enter the interiors, framing the majestic views onto the Popocatépetl, Iztaccihuatl, Santa Fe, Interlomas and Paseo de la Reforma—views deserving pride of place.
The mutual privacy of these residential units is preserved with extruded aluminum fixtures at their ends sheltering them from being overlooked by each other; these same features also offer interior intimacy for the apartments’ balconies.
The green, communal areas give the complex a unique quality within its context, and this informed our decision to raise the housing blocks by one storey to make a ground floor connection between the exterior gardens and the covered public zones. This gives residents an extraordinary space in which to gather together—other projects developed in this area of the city lack such open spaces, gardened areas and panoramic views.
In terms of numbers, the 3 towers contain 180 residential units of varying sizes, ranging from 103 to 330 square meters, with a structural layout that makes them fully flexible. Horizontally, each tower is divided into 2 sections measuring 330 square meters, and each one has a total of 17 stories, including two parking levels.
