Albariño House
Restoration and Addition of new volumes to an old stone house and wine cellar.
We are surrounded by vineyards, everywhere around the old house we find Albariño grapes, yellow and green. This is Meis, a small town where a young family wants to live, they own a property that holds a small stone house and a wine cellar.
The main idea was to join both buildings to create an interior outdoor space that served as the entry of the property. The access to the main rooms takes place in a promenade that surrounds the outdoor space.
The old house extends its volume in the same shape, using green colored concrete that shows the shape of the house. The private areas related to the bedrooms remain in this volume.
The wine cellar shelters the public program, such as the kitchen and a dinning room that leans out to look over the vineyards.
A third volume is added to serve as a play room for the kids.
