Spider Cristina and Spider Jose
It is quite common to have more than one side table in a room.
Sometimes we do not want two objects that look the same, but perhaps they shouldn’t look different either.
Essentially, side tables are objects that carry things, supporting other objects.
In the beginning the design followed structural and industrial references like the port cranes. During the process was found an image of Louise Bourgeois sculpture and on that moment the spiders physiognomy became very important to these objects.
These tables combine the knowledge of the traditional construction techniques with a unique design, based on a high standard construction quality, refined in the choice of materials and extremely careful in details and definitions.
The finishing process is also extremely important. The traditional wood wax is used to improve smell and the natural surface quality. This action should be repeated, as many times the object needs. The light should touch the surface slowly and remain there, almost in a silent way.
Production is totally handmade - the details are subtle, in a way we need to discover them slowly. These side tables can be easily combined, working as a couple, both made out of extraordinary Brazilian Rosewood. All objects are numbered and signed.
Elegance and delicacy were always present during the process. The creation process is mainly about discover - in every work we need to search the Beauty and Essence of things.
Patricio believes that objects should hold the author’s soul – this is the main aspect that will distinguish a certain object from any other. This does not make the object better or worse, just makes it different, unique.
It is only about essence, the author’s and the object's essence.
How can we achieve Beauty and Essence? We all have an entire life to discover.
