The site where the Ítaca CEIP is built is located on the Pont de Vilomara road. It has a very irregular shape, as its South and West sides along the road adopt a curve geometry, which continues on both sides. To the East side, the site borders with the Viladordes branch of the Sèquia channel. To the North side, currently, the site is bordered by farmland.
The plot is located on a downslope in the East-West direction. The upper part level corresponds approximately to the same continuous level of the channel.
The Pont de Vilomara road, in the area around the school, divides a fully consolidated urban area on the East side of an area of agricultural uses on the West side, where the educational equipment is placed.
The two-lined school requirements are solved through two buildings. One of the two buildings hosts the schoolar program itself and the other one, the multi-sport program. The two buildings are arranged on the site aligned, separated by the porch which, in turn, connects at the roof, giving continuity and saving the height difference between the school building and the gymnasium.
Given the uneven topography of the site, the school building developes in three levels. The first level corresponds to the ground floor, where the general access to the school is located. As you enter, there is a lobby that acts as a hall to the different areas that are located on this floor: full program for children, kitchen and dining area, the library and office for the AMPA and the service area. From this lobby, the outdoor courts can be accessed directly. On the first floor, the administration offices and classrooms with their respective toilets are located. On the second floor, classrooms and toilet services can be found as well. In the stairwells exit to the roof, there is a room designed to keep the boiler. In the exempt building there is located the entire sports program, consisting of a gym-multipurpose room, its stores, dressing rooms and offices, as well as the supplies room. A porch separates the two buildings, being the two of them physically attached by the porch roof.
The three entrances that access the school are located along the Pont of Vilomara road. One of them is the access for the outdoor sports tracks maintenance vehicles, the other is the access to the children area and developes through the courtyard of the school. The main access to the school is designed as an inside sloping street that spans the gap between the street and the level of access to the school on the ground floor.
The two main facades of the building, where all the openings are located, have East to West orientation.
