House in Asturias
Single house which has a strong object-like presence: it would seem to seek a sculptural effect or indefinitely remain a scale model, an unfinished air suggesting that it could offer much more.
One can perceive the continuity of the interior-exterior space in the ground floor hollows, the idea of negative space in the volume that lights the hall and of the space-folds in the living quarters. The roofs projected upward towards the landscape and incorporate the roof planes to the interior via double heights in the living areas and in the hall.
The intervention of the sections and roofing is to provide the volumes and the interior with the maximum expression and spatial tension which, with the help of the massive volumetric presence of the chimneys, provide an inter-play of void and mass with the symbolism of the fire flowing out to the exterior.
