Moling is a company located in Val Badia (Southtyrol, Italy) with a rich tradition in the artisanal production of a wide array of architectural surfaces. The company has a great deal of expertise in making a diverse range of natural wall plaster (for example, using clay or lime as a bonding agent) as well as mineral-based, seamless flooring; all of the aggregates for each project are individually mixed. The Moling Exposition project was created at the existing office building, located in the artisanal district of Gran Ega in San Martino in Badia, and serves not only as an exhibition space but also as offices and meeting rooms. The fronts of the storage areas and all of the walls were plastered with simple lime putty; the floor of the exhibition space was done in wax cement, developed by Moling. The aim was to create a kind of white cube that would give the (following) exhibition elements and surface patterns a space in which their respective atmospheric effects could be showcased.
