Taipei Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 1 Redevelopment. Taiwan
The project is the redevelopment of the old terminal constructed in 1979 that was initially designed to serve five million passengers per year. A plan to handle 15 million passengers per year became necessary after the drastic increase in number of air travelers.
The new shape is characterized by a large curved roof inspired by a method of laying shingles that is seen in traditional east asian roof structures.
