Flat Renovation in Gliwice
A large apartment in a historic building, with an area of 160m2, which was almost completely destroyed during a fire. Due to the large amount of damage, we were able to rearrange the space, omitting previous flaws. The owners expected some help in reorganizing the space in accordance with their needs. We suggested simplifying the existing layout of the flat. Our proposal was to design a straightforward space, using minimal materials, forms and shapes. The small kitchen was extended to the expansive living room, improving the proportionality between the rooms.
The bedroom, bathroom and hallway were straightened and expanded. The kitchen was separated from the rest of the flat with built-in furniture: wardrobe, kitchen cabinets, pantry and bookcase. The uncluttered space presents a clean ascetic. Quality matters, not quantity. The interior reveals simple geometric forms and smooth surfaces covering both the walls and furniture. The straightforward layout of the flat allows for the space to be easily taken in. It gives a spacious, clean and orderly feeling. The oak floors and timber countertops warm up the minimalist white interior.
