6 Logements à Mauves-sur-Loire
On a site in the heart of town, this project, dense, offers a restructuring and extanding of the existant building, implanted 6 housings in a small plot of 560m². This is, by a contemporary variation of traditional building forme, interacting with existing typologies, while offering, by a subtle game of gap and overlaps, quality housing. Handling multiple scales, from simple lean-to 3 storey building along the street, the projec is developing a great diversity in spatial interaction it generates. While preserving everyone’s privacy, it’s about offring a maximum of sunshine and a variety of visual depth in the different houses.
The only outdoor original space is split up in plural entities, offering differents possibilities of appropriation and generating real relationships between housing and their own outdoors spaces. The small volume which mark out the plot, the revisited lean-to, are building a progressiveness between public space of the street, semi-collective building space and the individual space of housing.
The project assumes a mineral writing, ensuring the link with the local’s materiality. The brick’s facades allow the implementation of an effective insulation, while providing durability of the construction in the time. An open dialogue is established for fact with the existing facades restored with lime plaster.
Likewase, the restored slate roof of the volume on street answer to the zinc roofs of the heart of the block, which ensures coherence of the multiple existing and rehabilitated volumes.
Finally, the fences design in brick-laying perforated, and a careful work of plant composition are interacting with mineral facades, and completing filter’s systems set up by the composition of the plan while qualifying each of the outdoor spaces.
