Oneglio Beach is a long-established beach with facilities on the waterfront of Imperia Porto.
As part of the complete regeneration of the Porto Maurizio waterfront, the proprietors have decided to transform their existing beach facilities.
The project’s first aim is to restore the visual continuity from the street to the horizon, which is currently interrupted by the existing restaurant.
The transparency of the planned building, its surface area and its shape compose a light-weight, Mediterranean ensemble.
The project envisages a new pavilion in line with the existing quay.
The project’s transparent shapes and materials will restore the visual connection between the sea and the town.
A transparent door made of light-weight materials (wood, glass and light) opens onto the beach, with a terrace overlooking the sea.
The vertical element of the flagpole will ensure the project becomes a visible landmark within the urban context .
The roof is composed of two conversely sloping planes to accentuate the light-weight aspect of the structure, as well as to allow the maximum light inside.
