The intervention to this building which sets a difference in its context in a very sober way, seeks a relationship to the existing modules of the 1960’s building, taking in consideration the same module, introducing a more dynamic façade.
The building deteriorating stage was the purpose of the intervention and why the client asked us to intervene.
The project seeks to integrate to its surroundings in the downtown area of Mexico City but in some way to provoke and stand out this allows for the interiors to be intervened an return the life the building one had before.
The rhythm of the façade is generated by using 4 modules which are mixed by solids and transparent panels emphasizing its verticality and allow for a different reading of what it one was
The curtainwall is anchored to the slabs therefore hiding the slab thickness and making the building lighter on the horizontal lines.
Ventilation is achieved by creating vertical operable windows at different places throughout the building and the pixelating façade at both south and east to have cross ventilation and a comfortable temperature inside.
