Anatta Haus. Kassel, Germay
Anatta Haus is an exhibition pavilion built in 2012 in Karlsaue Park in Kassel, Germany, as the setting for Lea Porsager’s contribution to the 13. dOCUMENTA, Anatta Experiment. The building is an interpertation of the Elisarion at Monte Verita. A building which along with Casa Anatta is closely related to the work of the artist.
The project was developed in dialogue between the architects, the artist, and the contractors. In this process the challenges and requirements for the house were resolved and incorporated in a way that strengthened the relation between the building, the artwork and the site.
Located on the west bank of the river Fulda the Karlsaue Park is a large baroque garden with arranged "natural" areas. In its geometry the pavilion alludes to the powerful baroque lines that form the park’s overall structure. At the same time the buildings shape and detailing alludes to the significant cladding of the Elisarion.
