House on Max Reinhardt Platz
On the one hand, the draft for the House on Max-Reinhardt Square may be experienced as a coherent complex with a unifying design. On the other hand, the individual construction elements may be perceived as individual houses. This is achieved through the individual designs of the façades of the single building elements representing the variations in the underlying theme shared by all the houses. In this way, and by adjusting their height to the adjacent existing buildings, the scale of surroundings that have grown up over the years is taken into account.
The building contains a mixture of commercial and residential elements typical of Berlin. The shop area on the ground oor enlivens the square. The corner premises facing the Deutsches Theater (German Theatre) have been set aside for a café with a terrace.
The of ce building opens onto Reinhardtstrasse with an entrance lobby. The conference area with a public character is located on the entrance level and is also connected to the green inner court. The of ces may be found on the upper oors. The building sections with a larger depth contain combined-use areas available for implementing modern of ce concepts. Both the of ce building and the houses have direct access to the shared underground garage.
