Panguipulli Hotel. Lake Panguipulli, Chile
This project in southern Chile took us to the image of the large covered sheds Colona heritage building a dialogue with distant geography.
This relationship sets a distinctive heritage landscape.
The project demonstrates a new landscape from afar, avoiding in the first instance, the image of home, hotel or house.
We design a black zinc cover horizontally dialoguing with distant geography as a new profile bearing the image of three volcanoes.
The land has two qualities:
- an esplanade for which the site is accessed;
2 and then a steep slope where the ground opens and connects with Lake Panguipulli and three volcanoes; Villarrica, Lanin and Quetrupillán.
The assignment is to design a seven-room hotel including a public Restaurants in total about 700 m2.
It was decided to leave the horizontal esplanade as parking and access and the project is located on the slope horizontally.
Once inside, a strong gesture of access breaks the quiet of the figure looking the farthest reference, the Lanin Volcano.
The area of the room is a long journey, going from public to private.
The corridor ends in the pool area and terrace where the views open up again towards the Choshuenco volcano. The spin room relates perpendicular to the lake and turn generates a small hall for each room, hiding from the public area doors. Suspend the private volume on the slope, allows the privacy of the rooms and the views.
