BUCO | bar-cafe
A tiny space converted into a coffee shop for the morning & a bar for the late evening.
The pursuit of a commercial space for the development of a cafeteria downtown, leads to the exploitation of every available hole (“buco” = “hole” in Italian). The owner needed a confined space in order to minimize the required personnel. Τhe 13m2 of the total 25m2 of the ground floor were occupied by the kitchen area as per hygiene obligatory regulations. Therefore, the remaining space was not sufficient to fit a seating area. The solution was given by making openings to the surrounding walls and therefore transforming them into tables. On the basement the toilets, a small kitchen and a wine display case were placed, whereas on the loft a small showroom of gastronomical products for sale is situated.
