"Less Than 31" Competition
The final purpose of "Less than 31" competition was to project guardian's home of Villa Belpoggio-Baciocchi in Bologna. This competition was dedicated only to young architects under 31 years old.
Our team proposal is called "LaCaSA", short version for "La Casa Sull’Albero", wich means "The Treehouse", the perfect expression to represent the adopted theme.
In fact, in order to mix building functions, villa's park context and low energetic
emissions, it has been choosen a simply-shaped construction. This building is sustained by poles, realized with true wood, is constructed by using concrete free technologies , is oriented in order to take advantage of solar exposition and, eventually, by using air-conditioning systems to keep control of the heat.
The whole building would appeared "suspended" over the slope, seen through the logs and perfectly placed in the woods context. The privacy protection would have been guaranteed by a panel system, so as the solar radiation protection. All this panels would be realized with reflecting materials to emphasize the building-nature relationship. Besides with a large amount of windows-wall, the building would have been natural illuminated and it might watched over the garden ad the villa.
