The site is characterized by small residential structures, slight height differences and vast green fields. Positioned directly on the east side of a little path the new building creates a direct connection with the wide sunflower field, which is bounded at the other end by the forest. The southern and northern neighboring plots are still undeveloped.
As an autonomous object is the house – slightly raised above ground level – placed in a narrow, flat lot close to the old village center. It is oriented to the east, allowing a magnificent view. Abstract geometric shapes and color clarity are of main importance. Emphasis is placed on the harmonious dialogue between scale and proportion. Unconventional is the large canopy.
The structure is strongly geometrical and influenced by a clear and objective language of architecture. The principle of duality is used. The floor plan typology follows the geometry of two squares - 9,5m x 9,5m. The result is a volume of 19m length and 9.5m width. One part of the volume is heated, the other cold. The interior (ground floor / upper floor) only has a net floor area of 157m ² (including garage), but the large outdoor roof gives the room a much bigger dimension and a unique atmosphere. Through this generous gesture the building receives a subtle elegance.
