Tjuvholmen Housing 81-82
Tjuvholmen is a new, modern and vibrant quarter of Oslo in the immediate vicinity of Oslo fjord. The two housings have a unique location at the edge of Tjuvholmen with a magnificent view over the fjord.
The design and layout is generated in an effort to provide all apartments as good a contact to the unique fjord landscape as possible. Thus, all façade openings, balconies and split-levels are adapted in relation to solar orientation and the surrounding buildings.
The main motive of the design is the facades pointed shape that creates a rhythm in the facade and opens the apartments facing the fjord and the view.
Housing 81 is designed with a residential common area and a smaller commercial area at ground level. Housing 82 is designed with a fitness/spa in the basement and on the ground level.
The plinth facade is made with an oblong thin slate in a gray-blue tone.
Facades from level 2 to 9 are rendered with an almost chalk-white façade plaster.
Window profiles appear white inwards and dark black-grey outwards.
In connection with the large window cut outs in the façade, cassettes of perforated and pre-patinated bronze have been made which together with the window sills and drip edges are framing the window holes.
