MATSUDAI SMALL TOWER
The art gallery “Front” has invited us to intervene within the framework of the Trienale of Art in Tsumari, Northern Japan.
We have proposed a project in a relation with the landscape, the winter snow (the layers could go up to 7 meters!), the views and the trekking that visitors do. In this exposition, art works are spread in a series of wild and very little populated valleys.
Matsudai Small Tower is an intervention that proposes two functions in a tour construction enveloped in a galvanized steel net, protecting from the numerous animals in summer.
On one hand one is given the opportunity to observe the site from a magestic high point with a solemn view to the valley. On the other hand, the tower contains three duckboard “levels” where visitors are invited for a “experimental night” surrounded by the snow and the peaks.
