Figino. Il Borgo Sostenibile
The object of this project involves the construction of a housing project experimental leased social rent, calmed and agreement by Polaris Investment SGR in Italy and on behalf of the ethical real estate fund "Abitare Sociale 1".
The project follows a process that began with the International Design Competition for Social Housing in two phases called for the area of Via Rasario in 2009 by Polaris and ended with the award of the second prize ex-aequo to the four group Renato Sarno RSGsrl, Matucci, Garbin and Fables that, "... in the opinion of the jury, have developed convincingly some of the most important issues proposed by the Contest, giving visions interesting project and complementary to each other, that together they meet the requirements of 'intervention. The study of the four proposals emerged the idea of an integrated development project aimed at enhancing each individual contribution in order to better interpret the goals of the initiative of the Fund deep Abitare Sociale 1 "(from the press release on the results of the competition of Housing Social Milan - Figino).
The project of a new neighborhood of social housing requires special attention to the spatial distribution of activities, their relationships and the choices formal and construction in order to get places with housing characteristics, social and functional quality. In order to coordinate the activities of design, project development of the new district was divided among groups of designers responsible, in 5 lots of action.
Lots1
Located in the eastern part of the action, it is the most public of the project, establish closer relations of relationship with the existing village of Figino and the church of San Maternal and appears to be the privileged point of access to the long 'north-south street Rasario.
The public square is the main element around which develops the whole lot characterized by the presence of public functions to gather and support services to the district and residences.
Within the Lot 1 includes four buildings for a total of 81 apartments:

• The building to the north of the square - Building 2
• The Village Assisted - Building 3
• The building to the south of the square - Building 4
