Inspired by the shape of a toothpaste tube, ‘Kenny’ is formed by a simple rectangular strip of Kvadrat fabric turned into a curvaceous shape. It celebrates simplicity and triggers the idea that odd looking, unfamiliar shapes still achieve functionality.
‘Hallingdal 65’- the Kvadrat fabric we used, was already so beautiful that we thought the only way to emphasize its qualities was to deconstruct it. The plain weave allowed us to unravel and release the warp threads from within the woven fabric, revealing the different colour of the woof yarns. As a result, a colourful rim had appeared, reminiscent of the selvedge that can be found as the hem of raw fabrics.
Initially designed for Kvadrat, the production of ‘Kenny’ was later taken for production by Moroso.
