Construction of three apartments adjacent to the road and four one-family houses at the rear of the plot. One prime objective is to adopt a sustainable development approach on all aspects of the building – energy, ecology, and human factors – yet compatible with financial constraints.
In particular, the materials are chosen for their thermal performance (K23 for the houses), their gray energy and their ability to fit into the site environment. For example, the houses are timber-framed and enveloped in hemp concrete, with pale roughcast at ground level and open wood cladding above. A geothermal heat pump provides heating and hot water; double-flow ventilation renews the air.
