Office Bruzkus Batek
This architectural duo has designed its own offices within a 19th century former chocolate factory in Berlin Mitte. Using selected, precise interventions, an industrial loft with historic vaulted ceilings has been transformed into an attractive working environment.
The reception area is separated from the central 20-person office space by a screening wall. Two “boxes” structure the main office space: in the white box, Ester Bruzkus’ and Patrick Batek’s offices and a meeting room are found. The black box opposite houses the WCs and the server.
The outer wall of the black box becomes a backdrop for the office kitchen. A wall of translucent double-ribbed sheets, supported by a structure of pine slats, separates the kitchen area and the accounts office from the long corridor running through the whole office. Informal meetings and coffee breaks take place around the large oak kitchen table designed by the architects. The table is surrounded by a colourful selection of chairs chosen from the KOMDO.CO range. Other objects and pieces of furniture from this, the architects’ own range, are presented in the showroom at the end of the corridor.
