House in Tajiri 2
The project site is situated on a small rise in the same neighborhood of House in Tajiri 1.
Historically this area hosted an old traditional Japanese farmhouse and the conformation of the site had been modified in order to create cultivable terraces.
First of all I changed the terracing conformation of the project site by restoring the natural slope.
The client belongs to the old generation and his intention was to maintain the traditional houses feeling.
In this context I decided to use the same grid of traditional farmhouses but readapting it for a new modern life.
I set this wall structure in radial position and additional boxes for storage were necessary in order to control the total balance of the structure.
Thanks to this solution the wall structure doesn’t interfere with the openings on the facade, instead it allows a full openness to all directions.
