Fragments
Hortillonnages Landscape
Fragments transport the landscape of the Hortillonnages from the water up to the heart of the plots of land. They are representing the various faces of the Hortillonnages which were previously a landscape of swamp and later marshes lots used for vegetable farming surrounded by water and then private plots of land oscillating between garden, kitchen garden and wild land.
Fragments
Fragments are planted clumps of soil, floating on the water, arranged on the banks or hung in the trees. They evoke the poetry of the Hortillonnages and the inheritance of the site. Put on stage, they surprise the visitors and awake their curiosity.
The plot of land
A vegetation of alluvial land grows naturally on the plots of land. Since the pontoon a duckboard guides the visitor up to the hut, where a hydraulic pump the visitor to water the fragments with the water of the pond.
The duckboard voluntarily rectilinear reveal the wild beauty of the plot of land. Through the wandering, the visitor is brought to discover a vegetation which evolves since a landscape of swamps until a landscape of pleasure garden and vegetable production.
Metal seats come to fit into the duckboard, leaving to the visitor the time to appreciate the peaceful view on the water.
