Task
the fully glazed entrance lobby of the technical museum creates many problems: poor acoustics, over-heating in summer and cooling in winter, unattractive seating and a lack of identity.

Response
an all encompassing solution using just one design element. "seating trees", plastic seating elements, which individually enclose the existing steel columns, also create a textile ceiling which gives shadow to the lobby. the elements are lit from the inside and can vary their colour according to occassion or mood.
