Residence de la Paix
Square shaped village of nine hundred low and middle income dwellings in North Dakar. The forms are inspired in the cubical nature of the towns built on the desert. Streets follow an orthogonal plan articulated with two diagonals that cut through to the central plaza, providing clear orientation. Horizontal strips of two and three storey modular housing provide development flexibility while offering a unified design vocabulary. All housing units are cross-ventilated, with balconies and interior patios.
