New Municipal Theater
Theater with a 900 seats hall and a 300 seats hall
5500 Sq.mt.
The theater is located along the Scaligere historic city walls: here a urban master plan inserts it in a new complex of tertiary buildings that form a central square where its main entrance is placed and marked by a large portal. The outside cladding is characterized by a series of horizontal bands in brick and white stone that recall the nearby city walls. The interior is characterized by the sectional intersection of two theater halls oriented in two opposite directions: a main one with 900 seats and a minor one with 300 seats. The multilevel theater lobby offer vistas towards the historic city from multiple viewpoints. The theater halls are continuously stepped slopes as in the ancient Greek amphitheaters. The side walls are characterized by suspended black acoustic panels with hidden lights inserted in the joints between them.
