Oudong Community Center
The community center is located in a village of fifty families outside of Phnom Penh, who shifted from the Stung Meanchey dumpsite. There was a need for a multipurpose gathering space that could host such functions as a classroom, medical room, and meeting room. Lying at a central position on the site, the main idea was to create a large canopy over a raised platform for protection from sun and rain. Rooms are separated and surrounded by covered open space, so as to allow airflow and public access through and around the center. These spaces have become hide and seek zones for children, casual meeting points and refuge spaces from the hot sun and heavy rain.
