Amsterdam Tower
We started by joining six adjacent plots that had development potential, and designed an urban complex of mixed uses: public parking, shops, offices and housing. Our idea was adding new buildings to the existing ones and build housing projects facing the residential area of the Colonia Condesa, and commercial projects facing Insurgentes Avenue, one of Mexico City’s main avenues. This way, access to the apartments is always through the residential neighborhood while access to the other programs is through Insurgentes Avenue. We took into account the adjacent establishments, such as Centro Qi (a gym/spa) –which we also designed– and the bakery El Molino, and we projected a commercial space with parking that could operate integrally with these amenities.
Amsterdam tower forms part of the mixed-use complex formed by two buildings toward Amsterdam Street and two buildings toward Insurgentes Avenue, with a common plaza in the middle. This fusion allowed us, by transferring potential, to be allowed to build 19 levels, making it the highest tower in this area on Insurgentes Avenue. In this tower we will have public parking on the first six levels and apartments starting on the seventh. The apartments were designed taking maximum advantage of the orientation, with beautiful views to the south and to the Colonia Condesa.
