The guiding principles of the projects transform the building in a place from where it is possible to read in depth the landscape, centred on views that can both be enjoyed from it and go toward it and taking on the role of a sort of lighthouse of the Mountain, a landmark that dialogues with and also belongs to the context.
Initially designed as a centralizing element or, in other words, an iconographic catalyst of the landscape, the project has become at the end an amplifier of the atmosphere of the same landscape of the surroundings.
The ambivalent relationship that has resulted from this process evokes the ancestral connection between man and the mountain.
The accommodation facility is made up of two buildings: the horizontal block works as a mediation element between inside and outside while the vertical one allows to perceive the landscape from afar. This relationship is further strengthened by choices that concern the functional program: the horizontal building contains more public facilities such as the reception, the bar and restaurant while the vertical block houses guests’ rooms and keeper’s lodging.
