Vetex Mint Gardens
A site is opened to the public for the first time after decades. 25 experimental, yet archetypical gardens on the site of a former textile factory. 25 mint varieties are cultivated among the unkempt ruderal vegetation. The mint, easily recognized for its characteristic smell, allows for the discovery of a strange temporary garden culture. Scaffolding rods serve as plant labels and mark the gardens in the open field. The installation is an archaeology of urban space. It cultivates plants and space. In the centre of the site a station promises a pleasant sojourn; we can take a rest and observe.
