36 Residential Units
The residential complex features a compact isolated block, resembling detached units rather than the multi-family housing type. The disposition in the lot, liberating the greatest amount of available space for the best enjoyment of the views and allowing the separation among the units, provides the project with a sense of depth and privacy.
The building is located on the outskirts of Seville, in one of the areas with the best views over the city. The project creates a new urban pattern in contrast to the existing one. This pattern characterizes the surroundings and determines the municipality. This trend is the center of the urban disaster on the outskirts of our cities.
Solved with the same density, heights and number of dwellings than in previous models, all of the surrounding topography has been altered in order to enlarge the space devoted to residential lanes and ground floor courtyards. In this way the small embankments in the green zones allow a great variety of interior spaces to be used as common areas without compromising privacy.
By placing the buildings more freely on the lot more privacy is guaranteed, as well as wide spaces between dwellings, looking for diagonal views and open spaces between them. The access to each apartment becomes more intimate through the common garden, boring holes in its facades as a sort of semi-open courtyard, through which one enters the hall across a triple height space.
With a smooth east-west incline, the topography is altered creating small dunes and trenches which gives the interior pedestrian paths and courtyards the privacy needed for their maximum enjoyment. In this way, the layout of the brick walls set up a variety of rooms and interior areas without compromising the privacy of the apartments.
