The building is located in a centre area of Seville, in Spain. It’s the result of the segregation of a Convent places built in the sixteenth century in typical Sevillian style
The intervention rigorously respected and maintained the morphology of the building and this itself constitutes a strong characteristic of the project. Indeed one of the conditions imposed by the Casco, the Spanish body which safeguards historic heritage, was that the identity and proportions or each individual plot be preserved, and although these are part of the same urban context, with classic Sevillan architectural elements like the centre patio.
The building consists of distinct areas, with different uses and services. The main area is adapted to the irregular form of the plot and original building. The original materials are used, brick for the wall.
The conversion to a Social Building thus retained all these different architectural elements that evoke the symbols of Andalusian popular traditions. The interior designs express a capacity to successfully marry avant-garde and tradition in original and neat stylistic representations, such as in the apparent contrast of certain materials.
